Coronavirus pandemic: The virus’ outburst has affected the Indian television industry badly

The Coronavirus pandemic has left the planet in shock. It’s been a serious concern for all people today. In India too, the Coronavirus cases are rising and therefore the Government has decided to stop working everything. Schools, colleges, gyms, malls, theatres, offices are shut. Even films are postponed while the shoot of television shows also will be stopped. the govt has been asking the citizens to remain home and enjoy self-quarantine. On St Patrick's Day, Filmcity gates were closed after direction from the Govt, two days before the declared date. The shoots of the many shows are stopped and this has had an adverse effect on the tv industry. JD Majethia, Chairman, TV and OTT section, IFTPC spoke about the shutdown of Filmcity. He told, "Our people had approved an order on Sunday where we affirmed that the Television industry will stop shooting from March 19. When I spoke to Aditya Thackeray Ji this morning, concerning the clarity on the unexpected shutdown of Filmcity shoots, that's when he reports the primary death in Mumbai due to coronavirus and that we all got to check out the safety our people city, state, and country. I without delay agreed together with his views."

He also had mentioned that the shutdown will certainly cause a mammoth loss of 100 crores within coming next two weeks for the Television industry. The pack up also will have an enormous effect on the daily wage workers. We all knew there are many people who run their houses only on the cash they earn daily and that they haven't any other savings left with them. Many TV shows haven’t any new episode to air and that’s why their TRPs will go down. According to the reports, Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan starrer Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 had to put off their shoot and now they're going to be re-running all their old episodes as they need not be ready to draw a bead on any new episodes. Shehnaaz Gill and Paras Chhabra's Mujhse Shaadi Karoge had to finish off early thanks to the Coronavirus outburst. In situ of Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, Bigg Boss 13 is going to be telecast once more. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai producer Rajan Shahi's new show Anupama was close to starting from March 16 but has been postponed thanks to the deadly virus. Many shows will need to telecast their old episodes because the shoot has been stopped and this is often bound to affect the TRPs.
